Grandma-Me-Quiltin
What better memories do you have than those spent with your grandparents?Grandma-N-Me Quiltin is the Granddaughter/ Grandmother duo located in rural Indiana. We are a unique collaboration of the fine art of quilting and bringing it back to life as a new aged art form.
Our name says it all, Grandma is from the baby boomer generation born in 1948 and then there’s “me”, a Gen Z. What a crazy gap in life, but what better way to make a business grow, from experience and tradition with new ideas of product and growth!
At the age of 7, I started working at our local quilt shop here in Portland during the summer with Grandma. As I grew a love for sewing and putting together fabrics, I knew that’s what my passion was. Two years later after our local quilt shop closed its doors, Grandma and I knew we had to open our own.
In 2018 Grandma at the age of 70 and me at the age of 13, opened the doors to Grandma-N-Me Quiltin. We started out buying a Gammill quilting machine and buying a few fabrics. Fast forward to now, and we have two Gammill quilting machines, two 10 needle embroidery machines, a growing fabric variety, and offer many more services as well as a distributor for Janome Machines.
We put pride and joy into our current community and in Portland’s generations to come. Grandma-N-Me are a true unique stitch in the growth of our community!
